Reading Bridge charges per session, not hourly. We like to keep the session time flexible, depending on the child’s needs.

I work with kids from kindergarten through sixth grade.

This completely depends on the age of the child, the home support of the parents and simply on each individual child. The younger the child, the easier it is for the brain to absorb the information and create new pathways. If a parent suspects any resistance to reading, no matter how young, it is important to seek help. The whole, “Wait and see” myth can really be a detriment.

As early as kindergarten there are signs, such as; difficulty with rhyming, word naming difficulty, confusion with word sounds and letters and manipulation of these sounds. Also, a young child that isn’t interested in reading or books is a huge red flag that can often be disregarded. Trouble with spelling and writing is seen as children age, along with low comprehension skills. General frustration, low self-esteem and anxiety about school are major signs of a learning disability.
